Create A Daily Cleaning Schedule That Rocks

by maidinbastrop - November 20, 2017

Keeping up with house chores can be challenging after a long day of work and kid’s soccer practice.  Wouldn’t it be easier to relax and unwind in a clean home?  Of course, but where will you find the time to do the housework throughout the week. With a daily cleaning schedule, it can be done!

I know it seems impossible, but I am here to tell you that incorporating house cleaning into your weekly schedule is possible.  How? Assign certain house chores to certain days of the week.  This will break it down into bite-size pieces and not one overwhelming task to conquer over the weekend.

Monday: Bathrooms

After a weekend of fun festivities, your bathroom will need a little TLC, so it’s a good idea to knock this chore out early in the week.  This is not intended to be a deep cleaning like scrubbing grout.  This is for the smaller things like; cleaning your toilet, cleaning the vanity and mirror, and changing out the towels.

Tuesday: Dust and Vacuum Living Areas

Dust and pet hair can build up without being seen until you start dusting and you realize it has gotten out of control.  Working dusting into your weekly schedule will keep those dust bunnies under control. Don’t forget to hit ceiling fans, blinds, and corners where cobwebs can hide.  Depending on the type of flooring in your home it can hide or accentuate all the dust you just knocked to the floor.  Now is a good time to vacuum to prevent any dust getting stirred back up into the air.

Wednesday: Kitchen

I know, you are already cleaning your kitchen every day by doing the dishes and wiping down your countertops.  This is to set aside time to hit the other areas in the kitchen that may get missed such as; wiping down the refrigerator, stove top, and range, and spot checking your cabinets for any mishaps while cooking.  While you are at it, you should toss out any expired food or leftovers.

Thursday: Livingroom and Bedroom

Thursdays are for tiding up the place.  Start in the living room by having everyone clear out their clutter from the living spaces.  While they are putting those things away go ahead and have everyone clean tidy up their bedrooms by picking up shoes, backpacks and putting clothes in the laundry hamper.  Once everything is put back in the proper place they can each do some light dusting and take a turn using the vacuum.

Friday: Clear Your Mind

Today is your day off to relax in your clean home.  If you feel like you must clean something, throw on a load of laundry or sheets and chill out while they wash and dry.

Doing it alone can still feel overwhelming so if you live with a roommate or family members make sure everyone is involved. If life gets in the way and you miss a day just make it up the next week, no need to beat yourself up about it.
